A woman in her twenties is hospitalized in critical condition following a hit-and-run incident in Mississauga. The collision occurred just before midnight on Tuesday at the intersection of Bristol Road West and Loonlake Avenue, prompting a response from Peel police.
The woman was crossing south on a green light when she was struck by a black Honda SUV traveling east on Bristol Road West, as reported by the police. She was immediately taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries and remained in critical condition on Wednesday evening. The driver of the SUV fled the scene without offering assistance.
Investigators are on the lookout for a black Honda SUV that is believed to have considerable damage to its front end. They are advising the driver to seek legal representation and to voluntarily surrender to the authorities. According to a post on X, police indicated that Bristol Road West was closed in the westbound direction at the junction of Fallingbrook Drive and Terry Fox Way, but have since reopened.
