A man in his 20s was rescued this morning after becoming trapped under a vehicle following a collision on Laurier Avenue near the University of Ottawa. The Ottawa Police Service responded to the incident around 6:45 a.m., where they found the man pinned under a pickup truck, with his arm tangled in the axle.

Ottawa Fire Services used heavy rescue equipment to stabilize the vehicle and safely extricate the man at 7:21 a.m. He was then taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition. Police have asked anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them. The area has since reopened after temporary road closures.
