A 69-year-old woman from West Grey has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm after a 58-year-old man was severely injured in a dog attack while jogging in West Grey earlier this month. The man was attacked by 5 to 10 mixed-breed dogs while running on Glenelg-Holland Townline. The attack lasted several minutes before a passing motorist intervened, chasing the dogs away and taking the man to the hospital in Markdale.

The woman, who owns the dogs, is under strict conditions regarding their control, and the dogs are currently in quarantine as a hearing is set to determine their fate. The victim, who has already undergone some reconstructive surgeries, will need more in the future. The woman is due in court in Walkerton at the end of February.

Anyone with information is urged to contact West Grey police or Crime Stoppers.
