A man in his 40s has died following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 174 in Ottawa’s east end. The crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, between Canaan Road and Old Montreal Road, involving a car and a tractor-trailer.
The car’s driver, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Ottawa Police are asking any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to contact the Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345. As the investigation continues, Highway 174 remains closed in both directions between Canaan Road and Old Montreal Road.
