A child suffered life-altering injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Vaughan over the weekend, according to York Regional Police (YRP). The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on Saturday near Cold Creek and Kirby roads, east of Albion Vaughan Road.
Upon arrival, officers found the child with severe injuries, and they were airlifted to a trauma center, where they remain in stable condition. An adult involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
YRP has not confirmed whether the injured individuals were in the same vehicle. Both drivers stayed at the scene, and authorities are seeking information from the driver of a red SUV, possibly a Land Rover Discovery Sport, who may have witnessed the incident. The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Kirby Road from Cold Creek Road.
