A fatal crash occurred on Highway 24 near Waterford, north of Simcoe, on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in one death and four injuries. Two cars and an SUV were involved in the collision around 3:30 p.m. A passenger in one of the sedans died at the scene, while the driver was taken to a trauma center with unspecified injuries.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were also hospitalized with undetermined injuries, and the other sedan’s driver was treated for minor injuries. The highway section between Windham Road 11 and Old Highway 24 was closed for several hours for investigation but has since reopened.
