A serious collision occurred in east London on Monday morning involving two pick-up trucks at the intersection of Oxford and McNay Streets around 7 a.m. One truck flipped onto its side, with the cab pressed into a fence in front of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School.
Fire crews had to extricate the driver, who was then transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Part of the school’s playground was cordoned off to keep children safe, and parents and students navigated the crash scene with the help of a crossing guard. Local residents expressed concerns about speeding and aggressive driving in the area.
Update – A 30-year-old London man has been charged with multiple offenses, including impaired operation causing bodily harm, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, racing a motor vehicle, failing to stop at a red light, not wearing a seatbelt properly, and obstructing a license plate.
