Two people were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision in Oshawa on Friday morning. According to Durham Regional Police, the crash took place around 8 a.m. on Simcoe Street North, south of Howden Road East. A northbound Mazda pickup truck lost control and swerved into the path of a southbound GMC SUV, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
The 25-year-old man and 52-year-old woman driving the vehicles were both taken to trauma centers with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for several hours for investigation and reopened by 1 p.m.
Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to reach out.
