Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer near the Cherry Hill Shopping Centre in Fergus, north of Guelph. The incident occurred at the intersection of Belsyde Avenue and Tower Street South around 5:30 p.m. on March 5.

The pedestrian was rushed to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured. The intersection was closed for several hours, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation. It is unclear whether charges are pending. OPP is asking anyone with information or footage to come forward.
