A driver was hospitalized with minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 417 in Ottawa’s west end on Sunday morning. The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. when the driver attempted to flick a cigarette out the passenger-side window between Eagleson Road and Moodie Drive, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The driver was charged with careless driving ($490 fine), littering ($110 fine), and will face six demerit points if convicted.
