Ontario Provincial Police called Ottawa fire services for assistance in freeing a driver trapped in a vehicle after a crash on Highway 417. The incident occurred around 6:36 p.m. on Monday in the westbound lanes near Kent Street, involving five vehicles.
One driver was trapped with deployed airbags. Firefighters stabilized the car, removed the driver’s door, and rescued the person by 6:51 p.m. As a precaution, they disconnected all vehicle batteries, absorbed leaking fluids, and ensured safety before leaving the scene.
