A Cambridge woman has been charged after a deadly crash involving a Guelph city bus. On Sunday, the 57-year-old woman was charged with criminal negligence and careless driving causing death.

The charges stem from an incident on January 8, when a 49-year-old man from Fergus was struck by the bus at Wyndham Street North and Carden Street. Despite efforts from the Guelph Fire Department to extricate the man, he was pronounced dead shortly after. The next day, the City of Guelph confirmed that the victim was a city staff member.
