Witnesses are being urged to step forward following a serious incident in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and critically injured in Markham on Thursday evening.
York Regional Police arrived at the scene of the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Kennedy Road and Denison Street, just prior to 6 p.m. Reports indicate that the pedestrian was in the process of crossing Kennedy Road when they were struck by a northbound black Honda Civic.
The injured individual was subsequently transported to a trauma center, where they are reported to be in life-threatening condition. The driver of the vehicle remained at the location of the incident.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and authorities are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the vicinity at that time to come forward.
