An investigation is underway by police regarding a two-vehicle crash that took place on Tuesday evening in the Peterborough vicinity, which led to the death of a 32-year-old motorist. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough detachments responded to the serious collision at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Highway 7, near the intersections of Parkhill Road and Lily Lake Road. Firefighters and emergency medical services also arrived at the scene.
Police have confirmed that the 32-year-old driver died as a result of the incident, while the other motorist was taken to a trauma hospital with critical injuries. The area was temporarily closed for several hours to allow investigators to conduct their work but has since been reopened to traffic. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and are requesting that anyone with relevant information or video footage contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP.
