An investigation into a fatal collision in Woolwich Township is being conducted by the Traffic Services Unit of the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS). Emergency services responded to reports of a serious accident at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Monday, near the intersection of Hawkesville and Three Bridges Roads.
Officials identified three vehicles involved in the incident: a red Chevrolet, a white Toyota pickup truck, and a blue Kia SUV. The driver of the Kia, a 56-year-old male from Brantford, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The Toyota’s driver, a 35-year-old male from Wellesley Township, sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, while the 30-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet from Wilmot Township was not injured.
The intersection was closed for several hours for investigative purposes, but has now reopened. The WRPS Traffic Services Unit is continuing its investigation.
